Happy. Happy. Happy.

Lots of happy going around today...

Happy Birthday Brian!

Happy Birthday Duncan!

And Happy Anniversary to us!

We went out to the resort last night for our annual anniversary dinner. We had a good time as usual. They've changed the buffet again, so this year we didn't get lobster. No big deal for me since I am not a huge fan of lobster, but Dave usually has 2 or 3. They were charging extra for lobster this year, and you only got one. And for the price difference, we skipped it. They still had some of our favorite other things though, so it worked out. We got to sit in the main dining room again this year. We didn't get a window seat this year, but from where we were sitting, it didn't really look like there was a lot going on outside at the time. We got to see the Winterfest formation ski show after dinner, and fireworks following that. It was almost like a party just for us. LOL... at least that is what I was thinking. Worked for me. :-)

Duncan turned one today. Time flies, it seems like we just brought him home, and now he is practically a full grown dog. He's still got a few bad habits I can't wait for him to outgrow, but I still can't believe how much he has already changed. When they say they don't stay puppies long, they aren't kidding. Seems like he was a puppy for a week, then in a blink he's big. We had ice cream cake today, other than that it was pretty much a typical Saturday together, slept in, hung out at home for a while, went for Chinese then got the cake. We stopped at dad's for a bit on the way home to check a problem he was having with his laptop, which turned out to be nothing, then had him come down for ice cream cake with us. He got us some chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary/Valentines' Day. Yum. And we spent the rest of the evening playing with the puppies. All in all a very nice anniversary.

Angina

Somehow, I'd have preferred issues with a stent or something. I know, I know... it sounds weird. But when they FINALLY got around to doing the heart cath today, they found nothing. So they are saying it's angina. Angina... pain and symptoms which (from the little I know about it) can feel like a heart attack. So, how do you know the difference?!?!?!?! I did get to talk to Terri, and it sounds like she is on the same train of thought that I am on. I guess 3rd time wasn't the charm. At least it doesn't sound like they fixed her, at least not to me. But on a positive note, it wasn't another heart attack.

Big puppy

Duncan is officially a big puppy, well, at least according to his food dish. We finished off his last bag of "large breed puppy" food yesterday and today he was on the same straight "large breed" food that Benson eats. We've been mixing it for a while now, but he will be a year old on Saturday, so it was time for the switch, and it timed out pretty well. His size is indicating a big puppy too! He's been over 80 pounds for a while now. He seems to have stopped, or at least slowed, growing upwards, so he may be as tall as he will get, but I am sure he is going to grow around a bit more.

Third times a charm?

Terri is in the hospital again. She's been having chest pains and had some bad tests today, and the doctor told her to get to the hospital tonight. She is to have another heart cath tomorrow. They are not sure what the problem is yet. Could be another clot, another blockage, or a stent coming loose. Or, could be she figured out how the holiday thing works that Crabby use to have. You know... always in the hospital around holidays. Last time was near Halloween, this time Valentines Day. I just hope they get her fixed this time...

Mickey!!

Mickey & Minnie
We had a really nice time at the Disney on Ice show last night. Yes, more pictures HERE. I'm hoping linking to my blog qualifies as "personal use only" as their announced "if you are taking pictures" disclaimer indicated. Landon only cared about seeing Mickey Mouse. Connor kept squealing, he was having a great time. He was entertained even before the show began. Then he zonked out about intermission for a bit. It was fun, but I was a little disappointed in the skating. There were a few small skating "solos", but not a lot of exhibition of skating, it was more costumes and flash than anything, but it was geared for kids, so, I guess it was actually very well balanced overall.

Well, so much for vacation...

Monday, ran some errands, and played with the puppies. Stopped to do the photo book for Rich's proofs, and the stupid machine wouldn't read my flash drive.

Tuesday, woke up sometime through the night sick. Spent all day Tuesday, and most of the day Wednesday in bed with the stomach flu. gahhh.....

Thursday, tried the photo book again. Won't read the other flash drive either - the one I have used in this same machine before. They must have done something to the machine. Went to the store, made stuffed shells for dinner. I was feeling pretty good all day, but after dinner started feeling kinda sick again. I guess I pushed it too much after eating pretty much just toast and jello for two days.

Friday, still feeling a little off and not much appetite. Some vacation. But I went up the hill, only thing I really accomplished was that I finally got that stinking photo book done. I took a card right from my camera and gave up on the flash drive. Made it to the bank, lost my keys, backtracked everywhere I had stopped through the day, ended up finding them in the middle of the road at Howard's. I must have dropped them going in, or out.

Saturday, feeling pretty good today. Even took a chance with a burger and fries for lunch. Duncan and I went to visit daddy, and later on tonight we are going out with some combination of my family. I say some combination, because I am not sure who all is coming. I had acquired 10 tickets to see Disney on Ice tonight, but this person doesn't wanna go if that person is going, and this other one doesn't wanna go if someone else isn't. GRRRR.... get over it. Go. Or not. It was meant to be fun, and is turning into not. Of course it could be just me, the rest of the week went SO WELL and all...

Anyhow, I am hoping tonight is fun. One more day off then back to work. Not looking forward to it, but it'll be back to the grind on Monday. Baseball stuff is coming in though, so maybe work won't irritate me for a while. Seems like I get less stress working with people from out of state than I do from working with the people in our building. Odd, but true.

It's Official!

I'm on vacation! All week! And you thought I was gonna say that the Steelers won the Super Bowl. Well they did, and it did not go unnoticed around here...

Fondue

We went up to Dave's dad's to watch the Super Bowl. Mom came down, and we usually go out for dinner, but to keep from taking any chances that we'd miss kickoff, we did Super Bow fondue. It turned out well for something we just threw together. I made a key lime cheese ball, we had hot oil fondue with chicken, steak, shrimp, meatballs and mushrooms along with some chips and salsa, and Boston cream pie for dessert (why do they call it pie, when it's cake?). It all timed out pretty well, we finished up just as the burner ran out and the coin toss was underway. Mom and I cleaned up while they started watching the game then we joined them. We caught a bit of the halftime show then had dessert. I missed a lot of the commercials from showing mom my Christmas present, then playing with it. I'll catch you up on what that was in a later blog. I can't believe I have yet to take pictures of it and blog about it.

Well, Benson and I slept in, and I've been playing with the computer. I guess I should get started with a few things I had on my "Monday of Vacation" list. I'll be back!!
