Sad days

I truly hate putting bad or negative stuff on the blog, but seems like that is all that is coming our way recently. I don't even know where to start or what to say at this point. I'm just getting kind of numb... Dad died Saturday night. Viewings and services will be held tomorrow and Wednesday.

If I don't say it enough, I love you all.

And...

get your cholesterol checked...

and quit smoking! ( you know who you are )

That time machine?

I want to be 10 again.

I guess the time has come in my life that I have to get use to the fact that I am getting older. Unfortunately, that means so is everyone else. And with that comes all the health issues that go along with it. Gram is home now. Turns out she has shingles. No sooner did she come home, then Howard ended up there. He had a massive heart attack on Monday and is currently under heavy sedation and on a ventilator. He has congestive heart failure. Monday evening he had undergone a heart cath, but the docs are saying he needs bypass surgery, but he has some hurdles to make it through first. They are in the process of trying to clear up his lungs and get him weened from the ventilator and heart pump, they wake him up, though he started coming out of it yesterday and they had to sedate him again.

One step at a time I guess...

Really, can we pick a different Easter tradition?

How about I buy you all some marshmallow Peeps every year?

Gram is in the hospital. Last year it was Richard. What's wrong with staying home for a holiday?!?!?! She went from the local hospital to one of the bigger hospitals. She was having a pain in her back, which the docs though could actually be a pain in her lung, which could be a blood clot. Some bloodwork indicated levels of something-or-other that indicates the possibility of a clot, so they were to do some testing. She spent most of the day yesterday waiting for these tests, and not being given any of her regular medications or breathing treatments. So by the time they finally got around to doing the test, she felt like crap and was having trouble breathing. So, I guess they are going to try again tomorrow. I'm seriously wondering if they have a clue up there.

Dave's already learned of my wishes, that if I am in that city and something goes wrong, I'd rather take may chances making it home and go to our hospital. At least I'd spend the waiting in my own car instead of sitting in some hospital lab all day while they decide what to do with me and when. (Mom spent the whole time in gram's room, waiting for them to bring her back). Seems that there has been a LOT of waiting involved between Terri, Richard and Gram up there. HELLO?!?! These are heart attacks, chest pains, and blood clots. Last I heard, these were life threatening conditions! (But then, I haven't been through medical school - so what do I know?

Anyhow, they did give her some kind of medicine to help break of the clot if there is one, until they get time to do the test. But then what if it is gone by then? I think they are trying to make money....

Back to those Peeps... If you promise to not end up in the hospital for your Easter tradition, I'll get ya some Peeps. Any takers?
