Actually. No. There is a pink dolphin in a lake in Louisiana. It is apparently an albino. It's soooooo cute!!

Balance?

I can't help but think that there is a balance somewhere... and a reason for everything...

Today marked one month since Howard's funeral. I guess I am still in some sort of denial. It just doesn't seem real to me that I will NEVER see him again. Then, there's Parker.

I can't help thinking they met. Perhaps there is only room on this planet for so many people at a given time, or maybe he just wanted to meet his pappy before he joined us here, maybe this little angel was waiting for him, just to say "Hi".

Goings on...

Not much going on really... We got the garden plot cleaned up and ready for planting. Over the weekend Dave put in a few tomatoes and I planted some cucumber seeds. I know it is probably a bit late to be planting seeds, but we couldn't find the lemon cucumber anywhere, and couldn't remember where we got it last year, but oddly enough, we did find some seeds at a local home & garden store. We put in some basil in the empty spot in the herb patch, and have more to plant, but it's been raining the last few evenings, so hopefully we can finish up this weekend.

We also replaced a rose bush that died on us. All the roses seem to be doing well, we should have flowers all over next week.

I finally got pictures of DAVE'S BIRTHDAY PIPE taken for him today. It's a hand-carved Boswell from the place in Chambersburg that we travel to occasionally.

Let's see... what else...

We got a new couch. Dave's dad got a deal on one for us. Two crazy puppies wore the upholstery out on the old one and it was starting to get tough keeping the bad parts covered. Here's DUNCAN TESTING OUT THE NEW COUCH.

Terri sent me a VIDEO OF PARKER. It is soooooooo cute! Little kissy face. Ahhhh technology. :-)

We didn't do anything spectacular over the long holiday weekend, but it was nice anyhow. Then back to work. BUT tomorrow is finally Friday!!

Benson turned 5 yesterday! I can't believe how fast time flies.... But, I am trying to figure out a way to keep him 5, forever. Any ideas?

As for those tomatoes...

With all that has been going on, and the crappy weather we've had when we actually HAVE the time, the garden has been slow going. I finally got started on turning the dirt Sunday for a while, them some more today. Sunday afternoon we stopped at the greenhouse and got a variety of tomatoes, peppers and a cucumber, then had no where to put them. HA! They were calling for frost anyhow, so it worked out. Did a little more work on the dirt today while Dave mowed the grass. It's starting to get presentable. A little more and we should be able to plant everything at least by the weekend. I still need to find one of those lemon cucumbers we planted last year. It tasted like a cucumber, but it was just fun to look at. I know, I'm weird.

If you get a postcard welcoming you for being a valued member of VoiceNetPlus!, be sure to be prepared to call the phone company. A while back I got one and couldn't figure out what it was. It looked like I was, well, being welcomed to something I joined, WHICH I DID NOT. A quick Google search, and I found, yep, sounds like a scam. I kept the post card. I've had it a couple months I think. Today, I went to pay our phone bill and it is $26 and change over what it should be, with charges to a couple different things...USBI and OAN Services, Inc... all pointing back to this postcard. Dave called the phone company and has cancelled whatever this is, and was told it was something we joined by clicking a pop up window. NOT! Anyhow, by the sounds of it, we are stuck paying the extra cash for this month, and we are now part of a class action lawsuit. Fun.

Never click popups, even the ones you don't see (You know, like when you have them blocked like I do).

And never believe anything is FREE. (I am sure some of you reading this may believe those stupid internet tricks - THEY ARE TRICKS, DON'T BELIEVE THEM) NOTHING IS FREE. Well... with the exception of tomatoes... I am sure we will have a bunch of those this summer. But that's from ME, free things from me are always FREE! :-) But that's the exception to the rule.
