Keeping up with the Laws...

I thought they were calling for rain today?

Well, I'm glad it stayed away, it can rain tomorrow...

Since the rain stayed away, we took advantage and got out of the house for a few hours. I couldn't find anything to do, so we just did a few geocaches (hi-tech hide and seek). Including the 5 we found today, we have a total of 91 finds!! Doesn't seem like we've found that many.

The only one really worth noting was the one we found at Canoe Creek State Park. While we have been here many times, and fish here regularly, we went today with the purpose of finding the cache that was placed near the Limestone Kilns. It gave me a workout though, the cache was up the trail on the side of the hill. I am SO out of shape. I was huffing and puffing halfway up. Dave says it's because of my 'desk job', and well, he's probably right. We really need to get out and walk again!! The trip also gave me my first 'outing' with the new lens. In case you've never seen these particular kilns - allow me....

Canoe Creek Limestone Kilns

These are the remnants of the Blair Limestone Company quarry and limekilns at Canoe Creek State Park, an area rich in limestone. The limestone was used in, among other things, the iron and steel industries of Pennsylvania.

We'll be back here in a couple weeks to get in some fishing.

I really need to get with it...

Nearly a month and a half since a new post?!!?!?!?! I bet you are wondering what we've been up to!! Nah, you probably figure we are up to the same thing you are. Digging out. Then digging out. Then digging out some more. BUT, yes, it's true - the snow is 'mostly' gone! There are still some pretty big piles in some parking lots in town, but for the most part, I think spring might actually be here. It is officially spring today, and wow was the weather nice. Too bad I had to work for a bit today. I think it is suppose to rain tomorrow.

Got my new drivers' license picture taken today, then stopped at Sheetz long enough to spill a iced mocha all through the Tracker. Then tried to clean up the sticky mess with napkins. GRRRR... Went in to work for a bit, then just came home and took the puppies out and played around in the back yard. I got a new lens for the camera recently and figured I'd play with it a little. (You didn't really think you'd get away without looking at pictures of some sort did you?) Here's the boys! I got tired of always thinking I wished I had taken whatever lens I didn't take when we went somewhere, so I picked up this new lens. Very versatile for whatever situation we may find ourselves in. I haven't really had a chance to play with it much, and only just snapped a few today. I think I'll like it. But, WOW, is it heavy compared to the other lenses in my backpack.

About the only thing we've really been doing lately is digging out and working. And making ice cream. You've been following Brain Freeze, right? So, we're hoping spring really is here so we can get out. Already have our fishing licenses, so we'll be out trout fishing soon. Only a couple weeks till opening day. Opening day for baseball season as well, so we'll hit a few Curve games.

Other than that, same ole, same ole.

Thanks too, to everything for all the birthday wishes. Whether by phone, text, email Facebook... I got them all and they were very much appreciated. Love you all!!
