Roses are red, and white and two-toned

and pink... so far. We've had a lot of buds on the roses but no flowers until yesterday or the day before. Patricia's rose was the first to bloom. And one of them was open so much that I grabbed the camera when I got home. I got a few shots of the roses that are blooming and some of the other things in the yard and things yet to be planted in the garden. Which led to planting a couple things, then pulling some weeds, till I started seeing too many bugs. LOL And I didn't have my gloves on so I quit. I'm a sissy. I guess I still don't like getting my hands dirty. Anyhow... enjoy:

Besides the rain...

Let's see where are we...

Dad's hernia surgery went well, and he is healing up great. Next on the list is getting his back checked out. He and I went to Pittsburgh on Wednesday to talk to a specialist to see what his options are. He is a good candidate for a minimally invasive surgery to try to help some problems he is having. He is hoping to get that scheduled for this summer. They tell us he will be in for the surgery, stay over night and can come home the next day if all goes well.

Gram was in the hospital earlier in the month. She is hanging out at Deb's for a while.

Parker turned one on the 14th. Mel had a party for him at a little park outside the next day. The weather cooperated and all the kids had a great time. Pictures of course! http://gallery.me.com/lori075#100660&view=mosaic&sel=0

We went over to the Arts Festival on campus last weekend. It was nice.

Benson turned 6 on the 20th. I can't believe he is 6 already!! Time flies!

This weekend, we got plants for the garden. We now have peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, and bussels sprouts. Now, to get them all planted...

Other than that, work, home, play with the puppies, repeat.

Blackberry Sherbert

Dave's dad dropped off some blackberries last night, so... the flavor of the day is Blackberry Sherbert.

Hey Crabby, what flavor do you want to try?

A hot, wet weekend

Saw pap yesterday, he was feeling pretty good and wanted to go fishing! I was very surprised when the first thing he said to me was, "I was just thinking about you!" Then he said he was wanting to go fishing. I've been trying to get him out for a while, and he never wants to go. Dave was working yesterday, so, I told him if the weather held out, we'd come get him and go today, but it rained all day so we couldn't go. Hope he still feels like going the next day the weather is nice and we are both off work.

I saw my old boss Ralph yesterday. He lives near my pap, and I saw him out in his yard as I was passing, so I stopped to talk to him. It was nice catching up. I haven't seen him in years! Then stopped at mom's for a few minutes before heading home.

Instead of fishing today, we went wandering around Walker Gardens again. It drizzled a off and on there, but not bad enough to mud the place up, or keep us from getting LOTS of pictures.

Tulips

When I was at pap's yesterday, he gave me a couple freezer bags of deer meat. And since it started thawing before I got home, I kept it in the fridge and threw it in the crockpot this morning. After we got back I made some noodles and veggies and we had that for dinner. I'd say it was a pretty good weekend, even though it rained today.

The only thing I didn't do that I had planned on was give Pig-Pen, I mean Benson, a bath. He has been rolling around in the dirt so much that he literally has dust flying off of him when you pat him. Little dirtball.

Dave's dad is headed to the hospital this week. He has another hernia. Ugh. He really needs to start taking it easy. He had one a few years ago, and hopefully he recuperates as quick this time as he did then. We'll run up a few times a day to help out with Sam and go to the store or whatever he needs.

Ok, I think that's it for now.
