That's me.
Let's see what we've been up to since November!!!!
Merry Christmas!!
Happy New Year!!
Happy Groundhog Day!
(Has it really been since November since I last added something?) I'm a slacker.
December 2nd we went downtown for the annual Christmas parade. It was a nice night, cold, but an enjoyable evening.
We had a birthday party for pap on December 4th. I was glad I was able to get him out for a while, he rarely leaves his apartment. I called him ahead of time and told him we were picking him up and taking him to Mom's for dinner and cake for his birthday. He was surprisingly agreeable, but then, how would you turn someone down when they are taking you for dinner for your own birthday. He doesn't leave his place often, and after we took him home, he was huffing and puffing at the top of the stairs, I kind of see why he never leaves! I'm gonna cheat and just give you a link to the picture of his cake... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31246564&l=282e59494f&id=1083340733
My brother-and-sister-in-law made it home for Thanksgiving, but not Christmas, and mom had work, so Me, Dave and his dad had a nice Christmas eve together, with Sammy of course. We did our Christmas Eve shrimp dinner - always yummy! Christmas day, the three of us headed up to mom's and stopped to see pap for a little while afterward. We had a nice Christmas. New year's eve mom made it down. We went out for dinner then stopped by Lakemont park for Lights on the Lake, then headed back to Dad's to watch the ball drop.
The middle of January we headed back out to see the surgeon that did dad's back surgery in July. He looked over the new MRI to see how things were healing, and dad talked with him a bit on further options to help him out. The surgeon feels anything more, would be more risky than helpful, so he won't be undergoing any more surgery.
We made it out to see WWE wrestling at the BJC a couple weeks ago. Fun as usual, but I got in trouble for taking pictures. Apparently my D40x looked a little too professional for photos that day, and I was asked to stop taking pictures. I'm looking into a camera that I should be able to get in the door, but will still take really nice pictures. I think I have it picked out. Just waiting on a deal, and some expendable cash. LOL
Pap ended up in the hospital for a couple days, and has since been moved to a rehab facility where he has been for the past week. They wanted to keep an eye on him for a week or two. He had a low blood count, and was pretty weak. He is looking a lot better!! He says he is sore though, apparently they are giving him a workout with the therapy. It's doing him a world of good though.
I haven't been doing much ice cream lately. Not sure why really. The other day I tried a different version of Chocolate mocha using chocolate milk instead of regular white. It gave it a little bit of a different taste. I still have to get that on the Brain Freeze blog.
And that brings us to this week. Duncan's been sick. We had them both to the vet last week for a routine checkup and shots, and a few days later Duncan got sick. Another trip to the vet, and some medicine and he is feeling almost back to himself. Now, Benson is sick. UGH! I hope they both feel better soon. Poor puppies.
And, knowing how well I have been keeping up with this blog, I am not sure I should do this, but I am going to try a "Project 365". This particular one is a photo a day for a year. In addition to taking a photo a day, I am planning on saying something here about each photo. Here goes nothing! They may not get posted every day, but I'll try.
